Celebrate the start of summer with two days of all things strawberry!  Join us from 9am-1pm on Saturday, May 20th at our Derwood Farmers Market, and on Sunday, May 21st at our Cabin John Farmers Market. 

​** Farmers will bring a bounty of locally grown strawberries.
** Vendors will offer strawberry-inspired foods. 
** A Strawberry Food Competition.
** Live music on Saturday & DJ on Sunday. 
** Craft tent will be hosting fun activities for kids and kids at heart to enjoy!

Strawberry Food Competition at Derwood Market

Calling all neighborhood bakers & home cooks! Join our Strawberry Food Competition and get bragging rights for the year! 

​Sign up to enter our Strawberry Food competition – pie, cobbler, cake or other goodies! 

​We're looking for local home bakers and makers to participate in the Strawberry Food Competition The competition is open to all ages and skill levels. You can enter any strawberry-inspired food, such as pie, cobbler, cake, or other goodies. 

If you think you have what it takes to win, enter for a chance to be crowned the Strawberry Food Champion! Winners will have bragging rights for the year and some mighty grand prizes. First Prize at each location is a Market Gift Basket worth over $100. 

To enter, sign up by May 18th and bring your food entry to the Derwood farmers market between 9:30 am and 10:30 am, labeled with your name and recipe ingredients, to the market Welcome Booth. The judging takes place starting at 11 am until 12 noon.  ​

​ So, what are you waiting for? Start baking! 

• The contest is open to all regular market-goers.
• Bakers must be signed up by May 18th.
• The winner will be announced at each Farmers Market Strawberry Celebration Day. You must be present to win!
