Here's our grand vision for this very critical role: - Someone who assist and liaise with vendors - Support volunteers, ensure they have materials, take breaks, - Run cooking demos & sampling- using an electric skillet, sample cups - Create recipe kits, recipe in a box/bag - Responding to customers' questions, bagging, cashiering at our market booth - The market work hours are on Wednesdays from 9:30 am until 3 pm and on Saturdays from 7:30 am until 2 pm. - Other duties as assigned We pay a dignified, living wage. Do you have experience writing grants? Do you love agriculture and farmers' markets?
We are looking to hire that special person with about 2+ years of grant writing experience. You'll be writing USDA, and/or foundation grants for our farmers' markets and farm stands to support our growth in food access and food security. You'll be using our goals and projections for our future expansion to write narratives for grant eligibility and social media. Other related duties as assigned. Someone with a degree in social service, agricultural or related field is a plus. At least three references in the grant writing arena. Excellent planning, ability to proactively pursue projects, and organizational and time management skills. Strong experience with Excel spreadsheets is highly desired. The ability to work independently and effectively and regularly communicate actions and progress to managers Is required. Interest in working on farmers’ markets and food security issues. Willingness to travel around Rockville to attend our markets and events. Reliable access to transportation and a valid driver's license is required. Ability to work flexible hours to accommodate work hours at our markets on weekends and weekdays. We pay a dignified, living wage. Part-time 5 to 10 hours weekly.
