Why are $3 per dozen eggs so important?
Monocacy Valley Organic Farm is located in Darnestown in Montgomery County, Maryland. While they are unable to attend farmers markets, the eggs are of such high quality and the price of $3 per dozen is so family friendly that it motivates us to sell them at the farmers market Welcome Booth.
Yes, not just cage free, i.e., not just a warehouse or barn with cages removed and all the hens in one large factory room... we mean out on pasture all year round! Not a small yard where chickens quickly eat all the grass then are stuck on just dirt... hens are on large green pastures with the greatest opportunity to eat grass and nourishing bugs in spring, summer and fall.
Organic? And Soy-free, Really?
Yes again! Our non-GMO feed contains no soy. Some people have soy sensitivities and want to avoid all sources of phytoestrogens.
Our hens are organically fed from the time they are day-old chicks and for their entire lives. They never receive any prophylactic antibiotics or hormones or indoor lighting to speed their egg production.
